Every after my work out I get so hungry that I could devour a man. My gym is in a mall so it's not hard to find a place to eat every after workout. The other night, I wanted to try something new. Didn't know where to eat but I saw a tarp of Bulgogi Brothers
(BB) while I was going up from the basement parking.
I never tried eating a Korean before, both the food
and the men
. Well, I've tried some "Korean
" barbecue from non-Korean restaurants. I never bothered eating
at a Korean restaurant because I thought Korean food were confusing and most of their food were veggies and I am not a fan of veggies. But the other night, I thought I'd give Bulgogi Brothers a try.
Bulgogi Brothers is located in the new wing of Glorietta. At first, I thought this place was a fast-food chain just like Jollibee or McDonald's but I was wrong. This is a restaurant. When I went up to the third level of the mall to find BB, I thought I was lost but I was not. I thought it was closed because I couldn't find the entrance door for it. I was not aware that it shares space with Modern Shanghai
(MS) restaurant. Modern Shanghai and Bulgogi Brothers are part of The Bistro Group chain of restaurants. I've been to MS before and I did not like their food but BB is different.
Not a fan of Korean dishes so I had no idea what to order. They have few options for BBQ but I don't like grilling the meat on my own and I don't like waiting. I was already hungry when I got to BB and I couldn't wait any longer so I just ordered what I know. I ordered the Bulgogi Bibimbap
My order was served after about 15 or 20mins. I did not get impatient by the wait time because right after I placed my order, they served me some veggie appetizer. They served romaine salad, a piece of Kimchi, corn and sweet potato, and Anchovies. I was not sure about eating the veggies because like I said I'm not a veggie person but I was already starving so I gave it a try and to my surprise, I liked it! I liked it a lot. Never knew that romaine salad could taste so good. I tried the kimchi, it was not so good. Too spicy for me but I mixed it with the salad and put some anchovies in it and that did the trick. It tasted much better, it tasted so good that I did not mind the spiciness of the kimchi. Never expected that I would enjoy veggie that much. Good thing I ordered their limitless Iced Tea, it fought off the heat brought by the spicy kimchi.
While I was enjoying the appetizer, my order was served. I ate all the salad, kimchi, and anchovies before I ate my bibimbap. Bulgogi Bibimbap mostly consists of veggies and there's a little bit of bulgogi meat and a lot of rice. I thought I was not going to like it but I liked it. It was actually delicious. I couldn't describe the taste because it was new to me but I enjoyed my order. It was better than I expected Though, I did not like the taste of the eggplant. I took it out and ate everything else. I never really expected that I'd enjoy vegetables as much as I did. Good thing I thought of trying it. I enjoyed the veggies but I don't think it will be something that I would crave for. It maybe a one time deal, I am still a meat person.
I will definitely visit BB again. Maybe try their BBQs soon!
