Movie night with friends. No plans for dinner however some of us were hungry. The movie time was around 10 in the evening but we arrived at high street an hour earlier. So me and my friends decided to eat something before the show started. Although we were at the Bonifacio High Street we had limited options as we did not want to walk further away from the high street cinemas.
We had two options to choose from at C2 block. One was the BBQ place which I really wanted to try but my I let my vegetarian friend choose a place for us to eat. We ended up with Nanbantei
, another japanese food place. I wasn't feeling the place because I don't like japanese food but we ate there anyway. I was not sure what to order so I followed what the waiter suggested. I ordered Beef and Pork Yakiniku. My friend who doesn't eat meat ordered some salad, and maki. We also ordered tempura.
The food that I ordered was not of my taste. I mean without the dipping sauce, I wouldn't have managed to eat it. It was a skewered meat, like BBQ but I did not like it. It had no taste on its own. Felt like the taste of the meat depended on the soy sauce or dipping sauce. Once I dipped it, the taste got better. I actually ate 2 orders of rice.
because I was hungry.
I tried the tempura too. It was okay. I'm allergic to seafood but I still tried it.
The maki, my friend said it did not have any fresh meat in it so I tried it. It was so-so. I don't like it but I don't hate it. I'd probably eat it again if I have no other food to eat.
The Salad, I don't know what the hell it was but my vegetarian friend said it wasn't good either. Though, I took a piece of mango from the salad and it was good.
I was full but I did not enjoy my food. I ate just for the sake of not getting hungry while at the movies. Maybe I just really don't understand japanese food. The place was packed and they were a lot of people at that time. They seem to enjoy their food.
The waiters were tooooooooo aggressive in suggesting food. While I was browsing the menu, the waiter kept on talking and talking about their food. It was annoying.
I'm not sure if I'm going back to this place. But if a friend wants to eat here then I might go back.
